A strong Police team turn out of all 12 female squad members and 4 males attended the biggest National event in the Masters calendar.

John Molyneaux (Hampshire), was not only the golden boy winning all his events in the 30-34yrs age group; 50/100/200 backstroke & 200/400 individual medley. Molyneaux also set a new British Masters Record in his 200m backstroke.

Other gold medallists were Ramm 35-39yrs 50/100 butterfly as well as silver in 50 freestyle; Alex Mason (Hertfordshire) 18-24yrs 200 individual medley, silver in both the 400 individual medley & freestyle and a bronze in the 200 breastroke.

Delyth Cunnah (Scotland) 50-54yrs 50 breastroke as well a bronze in the 100 & Charlotte Smith (W Yorks) 18-24yrs 1500 freestyle adding a bronze in the 800.

GB Police recorded excellent relay results; in the 160 yrs+ 4 x 50 freestyle, Blick, Cunnah, White & Ramm won gold and in the medley relay Thorn replace White to win the bronze medal.

It is fantastic to have lots of new young swimmers on the team, however the downside is that they have to compete in the 72yrs+ age bracket along with university teams. But they showed their strength in taking silver medals in both the 4 x 50 freestyle of Warrington, Helen Cumber (Met), Sara Gamble (West Mids) & Jemma Bingham (Cheshire) as well as the 4 x 100 freestyle team where Gamble was replaced by Vickie Standen (West Mids). And another silver in the 4 x 50 medley relay which consisted of Cumber, Fisher, Warrington & Bingham.

The team were just as successful in the mixed relays where in the 4 x 50 freestyle Mason, Ramm, Warrington & Molyneaux won silver in the 72yrs+ and Cunnah, Thorn, Carl Smith (West Mids) & Evans won bronze in the 200yrs+.
